A wall was knocked down between the living room and kitchen to provide an open space concept. The previous wood cabinets were replaced with white ones and a cool glass tile in shades of blue was added as the backsplash. Some of the upper cabinets have glazed front panels and there is also an appliance garage, where appliances are stored and not permanently displayed on the counters.
A grey and white slab was chosen as the countertop and a stainless steel hood adds a focal point to the room. The small peninsula was removed and a narrow island added along with space for seating at the end.
